Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.'s luxury cruise line, specializing in Destination Immersion, will enhance its offerings to improve passenger experiences: “Stay Longer. Experience More
“With this positioning, we reinforce our identity,” commented Larry Pimentel, President and CEO of Azamara Club Cruises. “First, we offer our passengers a choice of over a thousand destination experiences (both new and existing) in more than 70 countries. Furthermore, these experiences are designed to foster a unique human connection between our passengers and the people of the destinations they visit.”
Azamara continues to focus on immersion in the destination and will continue to offer longer stays and for more nights.
Immersive itineraries
Azamara Club Cruises is a pioneer in offering longer stays and more nights in the destinations it visits with its two ships, Azamara Journey®and Azamara Quest®.Azamara offers more than 250 overnight stays and stays until after 8 pm in port, meaning that 50% of its calls include nighttime experiences at its destinations. Furthermore, thanks to the smaller size of its ships, they can dock close to city centers (more than 50% of its ports are inaccessible to larger vessels). During 2017 and 2018, the cruise line will offer experiences in more than 200 ports around the world, visiting 35 of them for the first time.
Azamara will also offer cruises to attend a wide range of global events, including the Monaco Grand Prix, the FIFA World Cup, and the British Open, as well as themed trips focused on wine or yoga. Another new offering will be Azamara's Country Intensive Voyages, which give travelers the opportunity to explore the country they are visiting in greater depth, as most of their port calls are concentrated within a single country. This new service will be available in countries such as Japan, Italy, Spain, Norway, New Zealand, Australia, Greece, and Croatia.
Browse globally, connect locally.
The company has also announced “Cruise Global, Connect Local,” a series of shore-based programs designed to offer authentic and personalized experiences to enjoy both day and night.
The program includes a wide variety of group excursions, ranging from "Nights Local," which aims to give travelers a firsthand experience of the nightlife in different destinations through visits to bars, theaters, or local performances, to "Meet Local," cultural immersion experiences that connect travelers with local families and their homes, farms, or villas. "Cruise Global, Connect Local" also includes "Stay Local," a program that offers shore excursions during the trip, as well as pre- and post-cruise experiences. Travelers who want to create their own experiences can also participate in the "Customize Local", where they can personalize their excursions according to their tastes and preferences.
Boutique hotels by the sea
Azamara's smaller, more intimate luxury ships, which underwent a complete refurbishment in 2016, now boast a new, more modern and elegant design. Known for its authentic, friendly, and personalized service, the cruise line has also announced its new signature feature: onboard programming focused on the destinations the cruise line visits, encompassing local cuisine and drink, travel films, lectures and panel discussions on destinations and other topics, as well as entertainment.
