Princess Cruises has announced it will build a sixth ship in its Royal class. This new ship, whose name is yet to be revealed, will have a capacity of 3,560 passengers and is scheduled for delivery in 2022.
It will feature the signature elements that have made Princess a leading company: entertainment and leisure areas, top-notch shopping, an outdoor cinema screen, and 81 percent of all cabins being balcony cabins.
The ship will also feature the Ocean Medallion, Carnival's new device that will debut on Princess and will offer enhanced services and a fully personalized onboard experience for passengers.
This new Royal class ship will be built at the Fincantieri in Monfalcone, Italy.
Tony Roberts, Vice President of Princess Cruises UK and Europe, said: “The decision to expand our fleet is a direct result of Princess Cruises’ success worldwide. The Majestic Princess (launching in March) will be the first of four ships currently on order.”
Following in the footsteps of the Royal Princess, the Regal Princess, and the Britannia (of P&O), the Majestic Princess is just weeks away from delivery. The fifth ship of this class will be unveiled in 2019.
This expansion of the company's fleet will allow it to offer new passenger experiences and new onboard entertainment programs. Each of these ships will be based on the innovative spirit that defines Princess and has earned it the title of best cruise line from various trade publications and its passengers.
More details about this new ship will be revealed in the coming months.
