The Queen Elizabeth, a Cunard Line ship, has completed its 2016 port call schedule, having served nearly 130,000 passengers across 95 calls. Cunard has three sister ships, distinguished by their classic lines and the historical significance of their names, following the traditions of their predecessors. They are a regular presence in A Coruña during the winter months, both on their departure and return to Europe after their voyages across five continents.
The 2017 cruise calendar will open on January 1st with the arrival of the Oriana, from the P&O company. This will be the first of 121 scheduled calls in what is expected to be the best year in the history of the Port of A Coruña for the cruise sector. It is estimated that more than 170,000 passengers will disembark in the city next year, with the total number of visitors potentially exceeding 230,000 when including the ships' crews.
During 2017, the city will be visited by the largest cruise ships from the world's leading shipping companies, such as Carnival, Royal Caribbean, P&O, Cunard, and MSC.
