Costa Cruises invites you to start 2017 with one of its most exotic itineraries: “Colors of India.” This journey through some of the most captivating destinations in the Indian Ocean is available until March 11 and allows travelers to discover India with longer stopovers and overnight stays in the ports of the Maldives, Sri Lanka, and India.
Costa Cruises also offers the option of taking several excursions within the same destination. Guests can choose Mumbai (formerly Bombay) or Malé in the Maldives as their departure point. If they begin their cruise in Mumbai, they will start with a two-day stopover where they can admire its main tourist attractions, such as Banganga Pool, a basin fed by the underground Bhogwati River and a popular place of worship. The next stops on the itinerary are New Mangalore and then Cochin, in the state of Kerala, one of the country's main ports. There, guests can enjoy a tuk-tuk tour in the town of Kumbalangi or a boat trip through the Kerala Backwaters, a network of tropical canals in the interior of Cochin.
The Maldives are the next stop. At this point in the trip, it's possible to sail from Malé to Paradise Island
Resort.
In Sri Lanka, travelers visit Colombo, where they will discover the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage: a 25-hectare park that the country's government has set aside for the care of abandoned elephants, where more than 60 elephants now live.
