Costa Cruises launches, aboard its ships, “Bravo Chef: The Show”, a new cooking show starring the executive chefs on board and some of the most typical recipes of regional Italian and international cuisine.
The stages of the ships' theaters will be transformed to recreate the atmosphere of a real kitchen, where Costa Cruises chefs will demonstrate, step by step, how to prepare the most delicious and traditional Italian dishes, as well as some international recipes. The demonstration will be projected on the theater screens along with the ingredient list for each recipe, ensuring that attendees grasp every detail of the preparation.
Guests will be able to discover the preparation of some of the most representative international recipes from the destinations visited by the company's ships. Spaghetti with anchovies and breadcrumbs from Sicily, "saltimbocca alla romana" from Rome (veal, ham, and sage, rolled and cooked in dry white wine and butter), bacalao al pil-pil, a traditional Basque dish (dried and desalted cod with olive oil, chili pepper, and garlic), and bouillabaisse (a fish stew), typical of France, are just some of the dishes that will be presented during the show.
During “Bravo Chef: The Show,” not only will the preparation of the dishes be demonstrated, but helpful tips for preparing the perfect dinner will also be offered: the maître d' will explain the correct use and placement of plates, cutlery, and glasses, while the sommelier will present the best wine selection for each type of recipe. This onboard show has a format similar to a television program, with the Cruise Director acting as host.
At the end of the show, all viewers will participate in an interactive activity. They will be invited to answer a question related to the featured recipe using a remote control: the first to answer correctly will win a dinner for two at the onboard Club Restaurant.
Furthermore, to test the culinary skills of Costa Cruises passengers, Bravo Chef includes the "Bravo Chef: The Battle" competition, where all guests can compete to win the title of "BravoChef for a Day." This challenge involves contestants preparing a dish using surprise ingredients previously hidden in "mystery boxes." The competition will be judged by a panel consisting of the Food & Beverage Director, the maître d', and a guest. The Cruise Director will host the competition on the pool deck, where the winner will receive a dinner for two at the Club Restaurant or at "Burger d'Autore," a restaurant specializing in gourmet Italian burgers.
Following its premiere on November 18th at the Costa Pacifica theater, “Bravo Chef: The Show” and “Bravo Chef: The Battle” will be available on board seven other Costa Cruises ships: Costa Fascinosa, Costa Deliziosa, Costa Magica, Costa Favolosa, Costa Diadema, Costa Luminosa and Costa Mediterranea, where it can be enjoyed on all cruises.
