Virgin Voyages, formerly Virgin Cruises, has agreed to build three new cruise ships, the first of which is expected in 2020.
“Thousands of tourism professionals want us to offer the most incredible holidays at sea. They also asked us to have a distinctive name for this, and I’m delighted to announce that we are now Virgin Voyages. Although we have a lot of work ahead of us to build our three ships, we can’t wait to welcome everyone on board,” said Richard Branson, Chairman and Founder of Virgin Group.
Each Virgin Voyages cruise ship will have a gross tonnage of 110,000 and carry 2,800 passengers. The first ship will be launched in 2020 and will sail for a week to the Caribbean from Miami.
