Oceania Cruises has announced its new 2018 Europe & Americas collection, featuring a variety of voyages across the Mediterranean, the Baltic capitals and Northern Europe, Alaska, Canada and New England, and the Caribbean. Passengers can enjoy destinations with longer port calls and overnight stays in major cities.
“The 2018 Europe & Americas Collection is not only diverse in terms of destinations, but also offers a wide range of opportunities to experience destinations in depth and in a different way. From unparalleled culinary experiences to close encounters with people from other cultures, these voyages offer discerning travelers new ways to explore the world,” said Bob Binder, President and CEO of Oceania Cruises.
With stops in 218 destinations across four continents, European and American cruises spend nearly 90% of their time in port, and more than 60 of them offer 1 or 2 night stays in port.
Cruises for the discerning traveler
With the introduction of 71 new itineraries, travelers will find a wide range of unique journeys. “In addition to the extensive selection of Mediterranean and Northern European cruises with must-see cities, more adventurous travelers will find new itineraries with stops at lesser-known ports or less common routes that explore entire regions in depth,” Binder added.
The Grand European Tour aboard the Sirena is an 85-day exploration of Europe. This round-trip cruise from Miami visits 48 ports in 15 countries across four continents, offering overnight stays in Florence/Pisa, Jerusalem, Venice, and St. George's. Departure is June 23, 2018.
Vikings & Royals showcases the British Isles, retracing the routes of the intrepid Vikings. Explore Scotland, Wales, Ireland, and the legendary Faroe Islands, along with the northern lands of Iceland and Greenland, with an overnight stay in Reykjavik on a 20-day cruise aboard Nautica. Departs from Southampton on July 30, 2018.
Glorious Greece will offer one of the most in-depth explorations of these lands. In addition to stops in Athens, Rhodes, Santorini, Katakalon, and Heraklion, this cruise reveals some of Greece's best-kept secrets, such as Patmos and Gythion, and includes stops with the added charm of being icons of the Roman Empire, like Valletta and Taormina. This 10-day voyage aboard Riviera departs from Athens on October 14, 2018.
Highlights of the Europe & Americas 2018 collection
Regatta
The Regatta will spend the summer season exploring Alaska with a series of seven- to eleven-day itineraries, with eight cruises departing from Seattle and two from Vancouver. It will continue with an 11-day cruise from Vancouver to San Francisco, exploring the Pacific Northwest with stops in Victoria, British Columbia, and Astoria, Oregon. The Regatta concludes the season with an 18-day Caribbean cruise visiting the new port of Acajutla, El Salvador, along with stops in Mexico, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, and Colombia, and finally with a 16-day cruise from Miami, transiting the Panama Canal and ending in Los Angeles.
Insignia
begins the season in the Caribbean before discovering the boutique ports of New England on six 10-day cruises from New York, with an overnight stay in St. George, Bermuda. It continues with a series of 10-day cruises to Canada, traveling along the St. Lawrence River. The Insignia closes the season exploring the East Coast with a 16-day cruise from Montreal to Miami.
Nautica
opens the season with two cruises to the British Isles, including a 10-day sailing from Dublin with calls at two new Irish ports: Galway and Glengarriff. It then sails north on a 20-day exploration cruise through Norway and Russia, including stops at the North Cape and Solovetsky Islands. The season continues with four cruises of 12 to 20 days in the Baltic and Northern Europe before returning to the British Isles with a 12-day cruise from Southampton. The season concludes with five Mediterranean cruises sailing the Adriatic, the Aegean, the Greek Islands, and the French Riviera.
Sirena
opens and closes the season with a series of 10- to 11-day cruises focused on Bermuda and the Caribbean. During the summer, it will be based in the Mediterranean with an epic 85-day voyage through Europe, which can be enjoyed in its entirety or in five 10- to 12-day cruises, featuring numerous stops in the Iberian Peninsula, the French and Italian Rivieras, the Adriatic, and the Greek Islands. Sirena's final voyage will be a 25-day exploration cruise along the Amazon River and the southern Caribbean.
Marina
begins the season cruising the Baltic, Scandinavia, and Northern Europe with cruises ranging from 7 to 14 days, five of which include a two-night stop in St. Petersburg. Highlights include in-depth expeditions to Norway to view the fjords and the Northern Lights. After its Northern Europe season, the ship heads south, exploring Spain, Portugal, France, and Italy. The season concludes with a Mediterranean cruise to Lisbon before crossing the Atlantic.
Riviera
begins its summer season with a 12-day cruise from Barcelona to the Canary Islands. It continues with a series of 7- to 12-day cruises through the Mediterranean and the Greek Islands, and a series of unique seven-day getaways visiting boutique ports in Italy, France, and Spain before arriving in Athens for the "Best of Greece" cruise. At the height of summer, it heads west, calling at two new Spanish ports of call: Huelva and Roses. The Riviera concludes the season with a 14-day exploration of Spain and the Canary Islands.
