Celebrity Cruises, the premium cruise line of Royal Caribbean Cruises, Ltd., has announced that its newest ship will be named “Celebrity Edge.” The modern luxury cruise company also announced the name of the second ship in this class, a sister ship to the “Edge,” the “Celebrity Beyond,” and highlighted the incredible experience that passengers can expect aboard Celebrity Edge and all ships in its class, which will change their perspective on the world.
“The Edge class is destined to be a pioneer in modern luxury travel,” said Richard D. Fain, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean Cruises, Ltd. “The new ships will be at the forefront of innovation and design, so the name of their class is perfect and conveys the idea of how Celebrity Cruises envisions the future.”
Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, President and CEO of Celebrity Cruises, stated: “We set the bar high for the architects and designers of the Edge class, and the result is a stunning design. Cutting the first piece of steel is traditionally the first step in shipbuilding, and I am thrilled to see our dreams come to life over the next 24 months. We will reveal more details soon, and our guests and business partners will not be disappointed – this ship is going to be incredible.”.

The company expects to deliver Celebrity Edge in the fall of 2018. Celebrity Beyond is scheduled for delivery in the spring of 2020, and the third and fourth ships in the fall of 2021 and 2022 respectively.
