The Hotel Balneario Las Arenas in the city of Valencia was the chosen venue for the 4th Edition of the Gaceta del Turismo Awards for Sector Leaders , which was attended by a large number of professionals who did not want to miss the opportunity to meet at this gala with the main professionals from travel agencies, airlines, wholesalers, cruise companies and among others, without forgetting of course the authorities of the tourism and port sector in the Valencian Community.
The event began with a speech by Francesc Colomer, President of the Valencian Tourism Agency, who emphasized the enormous importance of tourism to our economy and the significant work and responsibility that falls on all companies related to this sector, which is fundamental to our economy.
Following the awards ceremony and a performance by comedian Paco Calonge, Rafael Miñana , Director of Gaceta del Turismo and Gaceta3 , addressed the audience: “Throughout its history, our publication has always strived to give voice to news in the tourism sector and promote its development. Therefore, we want to recognize the work of those companies that, for various reasons, have excelled in this endeavor, contributing their own projects or supporting those of other companies, thus helping us move forward in the development of the tourism sector, both in the Valencian Community and nationally.”
These are the companies and professionals who strive daily to bring their ideas and dreams to fruition in a sector that from the outside may seem "fun" and "easy," but which is actually tough and complicated, mainly due to a lack of support. Our sincerest appreciation for their work, and know that from Gaceta del Turismo and Gaceta3, we will always work to ensure that your work is recognized and valued
Authorities, tour operators, and local agencies must develop their creative work and promote our wonderful product, and we, as a publication for the sector, are responsible for giving voice and dissemination to all these projects so that they reach beyond regional borders
To this end, we already have collaborators in Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao, and Malaga, and we are joining forces with other Valencian media outlets, both radio and television, investing in the latest technologies, because together we can achieve much more for the benefit of our region. We must all work together so that this region climbs in the rankings and reaches the top of the tourism rankings, where we belong
“The event concluded with a cocktail reception where a raffle was held for a trip to Shanghai for two people, courtesy of Iberia; a Mediterranean cruise offered by Costa Cruises; two business class tickets to Istanbul sponsored by Turkish Airways; and two tickets plus accommodation in Havana, sponsored by Cubaires. These prizes were the perfect ending to a memorable evening and gala in every sense.
