Costa Cruises has selected four leading design firms to create the interiors of its two new 180,000-ton ships, due to be delivered in 2019 and 2021. Jeffrey Beers International, Dordoni Architetti, Partner Ship Design, and Rockwell Group have been chosen to undertake the cutting-edge interior design for a cruise ship.
In addition to a more efficient use of the ship's space, the design will take into account the comments and suggestions of Costa passengers

AWK, a sister company of Partner Ship Design, will handle coordination and work closely with the Meyer Turku shipyard and design teams. Partner Ship Design will lead the design of two restaurants and several bars, including the new “I Bacari,” as well as the upper passenger decks and pool areas.
Jeffrey Beers International will create the Casino and multiple restaurants, bars and lounges.
The new layout and interiors of all cabins, as well as the corridors and staircases, will be developed by Dordoni Architetti. Rockwell Group will create innovative and distinctive designs for different areas of the ship.
Costa's new ships will be the first in the cruise industry, along with the two new ships already announced by AIDA Cruises, the German brand of the Costa Group, and the three new ships recently commissioned by Carnival Cruise Line (two ships) and P&O Cruises (one ship), to be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG). They will be built at the Meyer shipyard in Turku, Finland. Each will exceed 180,000 gross tons, offering more than 2,600 cabins for a total of 6,600 passengers.
