Norwegian Cruise Line has announced it will quadruple current bandwidth across its entire fleet over the coming months to meet the growing internet needs of its guests. This move is part of a long-term strategic agreement with EMC to significantly improve the onboard internet experience across the company's fleet.

The WiFi experience will be even better thanks to the recent rollout of high-speed terrestrial connectivity at major ports of call.
“The combination of new hardware with the significant increase in satellite bandwidth, terrestrial connectivity, and EMC’s SpeedNet system puts an end to the problem of slow satellite connections and allows us to offer our guests a much more efficient and faster internet experience,” said Ross Henderson, Vice President of Onboard Billing for Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings. “Guests will be able to access content, post on social media, and stay in touch with friends and family on board just as if they were on land,” Henderson added.
Norwegian Cruise Line chose EMC to deliver the highest quality and customer satisfaction thanks to the quality of its software, its maritime expertise, and its unique network coverage. “This is further proof that we are making giant strides in the cruise industry thanks to our differentiated, purpose-built, and patented products and our unparalleled global support,” said Brent Horwitz, President of Cruise and Ferry Services at EMC.
All Norwegian cruise guests will be able to enjoy the new high-speed Wi-Fi, installed by SpeedNet, before July 2016.
Norwegian Cruise Line guests who selected complimentary Wi-Fi as part of the Free at Sea promotion will also enjoy the new internet experience on their cruise. Those wishing to purchase a plan can book per-minute packages or unlimited access packages before or during their cruise.
