Royal Caribbean International has added its 24th ship, the Ovation of the Seas, to its fleet in a ceremony held last Friday in Bremerhaven, Germany. The Ovation of the Seas is the third Quantum-class ship built at Meyer Werft, joining its sister ships, the Quantum of the Seas and the Anthem of the Seas.

“It’s wonderful to welcome Ovation of the Seas to the Royal Caribbean fleet,” added Michael Bayley, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean International. “Once again, we have one of the most technologically advanced cruise ships and the first ever built for the Chinese market, a market we will continue to invest in.”.
The Ovation of the Seas, with 18 decks, 168,666 gross tons, 2,091 cabins, and a capacity of 4,180 double-occupancy passengers, will now sail to Southampton, UK, where the ship will offer a series of short breaks before embarking on its 52-night "Global Odyssey" that will culminate with its arrival at its home port of Tianjin, China. From there, the ship will begin its inaugural sailing season in June of this year.
The Ovation of the Seas and its sister ships, Quantum of the Seas and Anthem of the Seas, belonging to the Quantum class, are built with state-of-the-art technology. They feature amenities such as the North Star, a capsule that rises 90 meters above the sea to offer passengers 360° panoramic views, surfing and skydiving experiences, leisure activities like basketball and roller skating, onboard restaurants with a wide variety of options, and loft suites and impressive staterooms with virtual balconies that offer real-time views from every room.
