It returns completely renovated to its home port of Honolulu, with improvements to public spaces and cabins.
The Pride of America returned to its home port of Honolulu on Saturday, March 26, after spending three and a half weeks in dry dock. There, it underwent renovations to create a ship with new spaces, redesigned common areas, and new decor in all cabins.
“The changes go far beyond a fresh coat of paint and new curtains. We have transformed the Pride of America into a new ship,” says Andy Stuart, President and Chief Operating Officer of Norwegian Cruise Line.
Many of the Pride of America's common areas, restaurants, bars, and lounges have been renovated to offer a more modern look, with contemporary furnishings and décor. All staterooms have benefited from this renovation: they now feature new furniture and mattresses, flat-screen televisions, and updated flooring. The improvements also include renovations to the pool, new lounge chairs, and Jacuzzis.
Guests aboard Pride of America can enjoy new spaces, such as the Soho Art Gallery, the new Perspectives Photo Studio, and Dolce Gelato, Norwegian's ice cream shop. Couples wishing to exchange vows while the ship is in port can do so in the ship's wedding chapel.
The Conservatory and the Library have been refurbished, and the game rooms have also been updated for those who prefer to leave their devices at home. Likewise, the Mandara Spa has been expanded and improved to include more treatment rooms for guests.
One of the most spectacular renovations is that of the main restaurant, Skyline, which has been given a fresh new look with a new entrance and new carpeting, upholstery, curtains, and columns. Other restaurants that have also undergone renovations include La Cucina, East Meets West, Cagney's Steakhouse, and Jefferson's Bistro. The new menus at Pride of America offer greater variety and have been carefully crafted by the Norwegiancon culinary team.
