Norwegian Cruise Line receives the award for best onboard cruise line at the ninth annual Excellence Awards

Norwegian Cruise Line has been awarded the title of "Best Onboard Entertainment" at the Cruise Excellence Awards presented by the Cruises News group. The awards ceremony took place on February 18, 2016, in Cartagena, Colombia, and brought together leading cruise line representatives.

The award for “Best Onboard Entertainment” recognizes the onboard entertainment offerings of the cruise line’s 14 modern ships, which include iconic Broadway shows such as Rock of Ages on the Norwegian Breakaway, Priscilla Queen of the Desert on the Norwegian Epic, and Burn the Floor on the Norwegian Getaway, among many others that can be seen on each of its ships. Similarly, the entertainment also includes live music onboard, such as performances like Howl at the Moon, a rock 'n' roll piano duel, or at the new Cavern Club onboard the Norwegian Epic, and also encompasses the onboard staff who encourage all cruisers to enjoy their vacation.

Gabriele Restivo, Business Development Manager for Spain, accepted the award and commented: “We are delighted to have been recognized by the panel of experts at the Excellence Awards. This is the result of our great efforts to ensure that our guests have not only a wide variety of entertainment and activities but also a high-quality offering with prestigious Broadway shows on board, allowing them to feel free to choose how to spend their time onboard.”

Last year, Norwegian Cruise Line was recognized by these awards as Best Value Cruise Line 2014, while in 2014 it received a plaque of recognition for its commitment to the Spanish market.

Cruise passengers interested in experiencing award-winning entertainment can set sail from Barcelona on the company's second-largest ship, the recently refurbished Norwegian Epic. Currently, the ship offers longer cruises in the Western Mediterranean and to the Canary Islands and Morocco, beginning its popular 7-night cruises with stops in Naples (Pompeii), Civitavecchia (Rome), Livorno (Florence/Pisa), Cannes, and Marseille on April 17.
