The Port of Cadiz expects 281 cruise ships in 2016

October, with 49 scheduled cruise ship calls, will be the busiest month.
The Port of Cádiz Bay has 281 cruise ship calls planned for 2016, practically maintaining the figures for the current year, which provisionally closes with 289 cruise ships and, for the first time, has surpassed the 400,000 passenger mark.
If the forecasts are met, October will once again be the busiest month for this traffic, with 49 announced calls, the highest concentration of these ships in a single month to date.
Throughout the year, there will be two days when up to five ships will be in the Cádiz harbor simultaneously: May 19 and October 24. Additionally, on four other occasions, four cruise ships will dock at the same time: May 28, September 15, and October 6 and 7.
Of the 281 announced port calls, 5 will be cruise ships visiting the Port of Cádiz for the first time, most notably the Queen Mary 2, a 345-meter-long vessel scheduled to dock on May 7th.
However, the countdown officially begins on January 2nd, when the Rotterdam and the Queen Elizabeth will both be in port.

Finally, it's worth remembering the significant economic impact this activity has on the surrounding area. According to recent studies, the average expenditure per passenger per day is estimated at around €41.60 in ports of call, while in home ports this figure rises to €80.
