Royal Caribbean International announced yesterday that the Jewel of the Seas will begin its Mediterranean season next summer completely renovated. The 90,090-gross-ton ship will undergo a complete bow-to-stern overhaul, giving it a fresh, contemporary look.
Famous for its ocean-view elevators and panoramic windows, the Jewel of the Seas will offer a superior experience that will make it a good option for families who want to discover the Mediterranean islands from May to October of next year, a season in which the ship will be the only one in its category to make several cruises departing from (and arriving from) Rome to the Eastern Mediterranean.
New cabins and restaurants, technological upgrades, and top-notch entertainment will make it the most modernized ship cruising from Rome to that part of the Mediterranean this summer. New features will include:
- A two-bedroom family suite and 24 new balcony cabins offering the best views of the Eastern Mediterranean.
- Giovanni's Table, Vintages and Izumi, some of the most famous restaurants in the Royal Caribbean fleet, will be joining the ship.
- Other existing areas such as the Chops Grille restaurant, the spa and the shopping area will be renovated with a modern design.
- A screen will also be added to the pool so passengers can enjoy movie nights under the stars.
- In addition, the ship will feature VOOM, the fastest internet connection at sea.
The ship will run seven, eight and nine night itineraries visiting the best ports in Italy, Greece and Turkey such as Athens, Mykonos, Santorini or Ephesus, offering a whole range of experiences and adventures for which Royal Caribbean is known.
