MSC Armonia will accompany MSC Opera during the winter of 2016-2017, offering a variety of itineraries through the Caribbean and Central America.
MSC Cruises announced today that it will strengthen its presence in Cuba by establishing a second ship as its home port in Havana for the 2016-2017 winter season. In this way, the company continues to meet the growing demand to experience the unique culture of this Caribbean island.
In a move that will double the number of Caribbean itineraries focused on Cuba, MSC Armoniawill join MSC Opera in Havana from November 2016, for the entire winter season.
MSC Armonia will offer two different eight-day itineraries, adding more Caribbean and Central American destinations to MSC Cruises' offerings:
- After spending two nights in the Cuban capital, the first itinerary takes guests from Havana to the white-sand beaches, pristine bays, and spectacular coral reefs of Roatán Island (Honduras), before heading to Belize City, a city with a rich colonial charm. The ship then sails to the Costa Maya (Mexico), and afterwards, travelers enjoy an exclusive beach experience on the Isle of Youth (Cuba) before returning to Havana.
- The second itinerary will begin with two nights in Havana before setting sail for Montego Bay (Jamaica), Georgetown (Cayman Islands) and Cozumel, on the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico, and will end in the Cuban capital.
- The presence of MSC Armonia in Cuba will also offer MSC Cruises guests the unique opportunity to combine both itineraries into a spectacular 14-night cruise.
- Furthermore, the optimal location of Havana's cruise terminal, at the foot of the Old City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, allows easy access from the ship to local attractions.
In just a few days, MSC Cruises will become the world's first cruise line based in Havana, from where MSC Opera will sail to Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, and Mexico, with two nights in the Cuban capital. And in December 2016, MSC Opera will spend its second Cuban winter, alongside MSC Armonia, with eight-day (seven-night) cruises from Havana to Montego Bay (Jamaica), George Town (Cayman Islands), Cozumel (Mexico), and back to Havana.
