The Norwegian Escape, the company's newest and largest ship, will be the first in the fleet to offer new menu items and a per-dish pricing policy, making the offering even more flexible and giving guests greater freedom.
Norwegian Cruise Line has announced the introduction of à la carte pricing at its signature specialty restaurants, giving guests the freedom to sample a range of flavors and gourmet dishes, as well as the flexibility to choose how many courses they would like to enjoy during their dinner.
Guests can experience Freestyle Cruising starting in October on the brand-new Norwegian Escape, where they can choose from any of its 11 dining options included in the cruise price or experience new flavors at Norwegian Cruise Line's signature specialty restaurants: La Cucina, Le Bistro, Cagney's Steakhouse and the new Bayamo, run by James Beard Award-winning chef Jose Garces, based on an à la carte menu.
The specialty restaurants on the Norwegian Escape will feature new menus that include passenger favorites as well as new flavors, offering the freedom to choose as many courses as they wish for their dinner, with each course priced individually. Whether guests want a light meal like an appetizer, soup, or salad, or to indulge in a multi-course dinner featuring lobster, Norwegian Cruise Line's new à la carte options will give them the opportunity to create their own dining experience, just like they would at any restaurant on land.
At Cagney's Steakhouse, appetizers on the new à la carte menu range from $4.99 to $7.95, and entrees from $17.99 to $29.99, with the Certified Angus Beef® being the highlight. Certified Angus Beef is the world's leading Angus steak brand and the top choice for consumers seeking premium quality beef. At Le Bistro, guests will find delicious new dishes inspired by traditional French cuisine, such as Bouillabaisse, pan-seared jumbo scallops, and veal medallions with morrilla sauce, starting at $15.99. Guests looking to savor “la dolce vita” will be transported to the Mediterranean immediately when they choose their dishes at La Cucina, highlighting antipasti, pasta, risotto and traditional Italian main courses starting at $12.99, which includes Ossobuco alla Milanese, farm chicken with ham and pan-fried sea bass fillet.
The Churrascaria Moderno and the Teppanyaki restaurant will continue to have an additional cost of $19.95 and $29.95 respectively, as will lunch and dinner shows, including Wine Lovers The Musical and For The Record™: The Brat Pack.
Guests who book a specialty restaurant package have the freedom to choose their dining experience, as the packages include dinner at La Cucina, Le Bistro, and Cagney's Steakhouse at no extra charge. They can also enjoy dinner at Bayamo, managed by José Garcés, for an additional $15.
In addition to the specialty restaurants on the Norwegian Escape, Ocean Blue on the Norwegian Breakaway and Norwegian Getaway will begin offering à la carte dining options starting October 3, 2015, and à la carte dining will be available fleetwide beginning January 1, 2016. Other dinner shows, including Cirque Dreams & Dinner and The Illusionarium, will maintain their fixed prices. Guests who wish to pre-book their dinners can continue to do so through MyNCL with no booking fee. The cost of the chosen à la carte options will be added to their onboard account at the time of dinner.
