Costa Cruises confirms that the company is in continuous contact with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, local security authorities, the Captain of the Costa Fascinosa, and our local port agent to continuously assess the situation on site and its evolution. At this time, the Captain reports that 14 passengers have not yet returned to the ship. Costa Cruises is providing full assistance to all passengers and their families. Costa management and the Costa Care Team are in Tunisia to reach the ship and liaise with local authorities to ensure that all passengers are properly registered and that everyone receives the necessary assistance, including those not currently on board. Local authorities have implemented enhanced security measures around the port to ensure the safety of the ship, passengers, and crew. The ship is expected to depart Tunisia at approximately 12:30 a.m. on March 19. Costa Cruises expresses its condolences to all the people, as well as the families, who have been involved in this tragic event that occurred today.
