New European project 'We Meet': closer collaboration between Costa Crociere and travel agencies

Starting this spring in key markets, including Spain, the special Agora meetings will allow the Italian company and its main distribution partners to share and discuss projects and strategies for future growth.

During the twenty-second edition of Protagonisti del Mare, aboard the new flagship, the Costa Diadema, Costa Crociere presented We Meet, a new European-wide initiative designed to further strengthen ties between the Italian shipping company and its partners in the travel agency sector.

“We have decided to create a new communication channel with our partners,” says Andrea Tavella, Director of Corporate Trade Business Development at Costa, “to meet and discuss together, in a more direct and proactive way, everything we can do to continue improving our services and products. Our goal is to continue growing in Europe, and the contribution of our partners is essential. Thanks to We Meet, they will be much more involved in the life and decisions of our company.”

“I firmly believe in this innovative project, designed to bring us closer to our partners,” adds Costa Crociere’s new CEO, Neil Palomba, “because I am certain that the expertise of industry operators can help us continuously improve our product. The goal is to incorporate their opinions into the decision-making process, leveraging our existing relationship within a framework of ongoing development and integration.”

The new program includes a series of meetings, called Agora, which will begin this spring in Costa's main European markets, including Spain. The annual Agora meetings will initially be held this year, but are planned to take place every six months thereafter.

As the name suggests, Agora will be an open discussion forum where participants can share ideas and suggestions on the company's main activities: services, onboard offerings, itineraries, marketing activities, agency digitization, new projects, etc.

The meetings will take place at Costa's offices in the different markets and will last a full day. The company will be represented by its senior Corporate managers, as well as sales and marketing representatives from each market. Regarding travel agencies, some will be permanent members of Agora, while others will rotate.
