Cruise ships during the off-season, containers, ro-ro cargo, and bulk cargo will receive discounts based on a series of criteria.
Port services have also agreed to maintain their 2015 rates.
The Port of the Bay of Cadiz will maintain the same vessel, passenger and cargo rates in 2015 as in the last four years with the aim of offering more competitive prices that will favor the recovery of traffic and the attraction of new lines of business.
Thus, the correction coefficients for 2015 remain at 1.18 for the ship and cargo tax and 1.10 for the passenger tax, the same as since 2011.
Similarly, to encourage cruise ship, roro, container and bulk cargo traffic, the Port Authority will offer incentives next year to these lines of business as follows:
– Cruise ships that stay overnight in the Port of the Bay of Cadiz will have a 10 percent discount on the passenger tax.
– Cruises that call at the port in January and February will also be able to benefit from a 10 percent reduction in the ship tax and a 15 percent reduction in the passenger tax.
– To boost container traffic, the Port Authority will apply a 10 percent discount on the vessel fee from the first stop and between 10 and 40 percent on the cargo fee, depending on the TEUs moved.
– For roro traffic, a reduction of between 5 and 10 percent to the freight rate is proposed.
– Finally, some solid bulk goods such as cereals, soybeans, animal feed and flours, as well as sugar, will also be discounted between 5 and 20 percent, depending on the type of traffic and volume.
Similarly, port services such as pilots, mooring crews, and tugboats have also agreed not to increase their rates next year.
In the case of the bonuses and corrective coefficients for port fees, they were approved in the 2015 Business Plan and must be ratified by State Ports before the end of the year and published in the General State Budgets.
