The APB approves an investment budget of 27.8 million euros for the year 2015

The forecast for the end of 2014 provides a positive result of 13.6 million.

The Board of Directors of the Balearic Islands Port Authority (APB) has approved the Business Plan for 2015, which anticipates an
investment of €27.8 million in the five ports of general interest that it manages in the Islands. The projected results for 2014 show a profit of €13.6 million and a projected revenue of €60.1 million.

The port of Ibiza will receive the most investment next year, with a projected €12.5 million. The most significant project will be the adaptation and improvement of the South docks, with an investment of €7 million, followed by the improvement of the Commercial docks, with
€4.4 million. An additional €2.5 million is also earmarked for the extension of the Botafoc docks to accommodate large cruise ships.

The Port of Palma will receive €9.3 million, primarily earmarked for improvements to its cruise ship facilities, such as the expansion of Terminal 6, the extension of the berthing line, and the reorganization of areas to accommodate larger vessels. The Port of Maó will receive €2.7 million, mainly for projects at the Cós Nou road terminal, the extension of the passenger dock's berthing line to accommodate larger cruise ships, the installation of lighting between the Port Authority of the Balearic Islands (APB) offices and Colársega, and the port-city connection at the Ses Voltes slope.

Compensation for insularity

The Board of Directors of the APB has also approved a reduction in its income of approximately fourteen million euros, as a result of the application of the insularity bonuses and the application of the reduction coefficients in the
inter-island maritime services in the fees for the ship, the passenger and the merchandise.
