Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA) is supporting Costa Cruises on its journey toward a sustainable business by upgrading its fleet with the latest LED lighting. More than 300,000 light fixtures are being replaced across 10 ships with MASTER LED and CorePro LEDTube solutions. This lighting project guarantees energy savings of up to 80%, with a corresponding reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. This switch to energy-efficient LED technology is the latest step toward the company's goal of reducing its emissions, in line with its established targets.

In addition to achieving this significant energy efficiency, LEDs emit a high-quality white light, similar to natural sunlight, which is easy on the eyes and provides instant, maximum brightness with cool-to-the-touch fixtures. The installed lighting solutions create a brighter environment and a more relaxing and inviting atmosphere than previous halogen bulbs.
