MSC Cruises' MSC Armonia made a port call in Cádiz today as part of its maiden voyage following an extensive refurbishment under the company's Renaissance Program. After its stop in Cádiz, the newly refurbished MSC Armonia will continue sailing to the Canary Islands, where it will remain for the entire winter season.
Since MSC Cruises' first stop in Cádiz many years ago, the ties between this Andalusian port and the shipping company have grown stronger, reaching a new milestone today with the arrival of the company's first ship to undergo the ambitious Renaissance Program. The ceremony, attended by representatives of the Port Authority and other local authorities, served as an opportunity for MSC Cruises to reaffirm its full confidence in the many possibilities of the Port of Cádiz, the city, and its surrounding area as a cruise destination, thanks to its extensive cultural and heritage offerings.
MSC Armonia has become the first ship in MSC Cruises' Lirica class to undergo the Renaissance Program, a €200 million refurbishment that has added 193 new cabins and enhanced comfort, entertainment areas, and onboard services. After departing from the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy on November 17, the revamped MSC Armonia embarked on an extraordinary inaugural Mediterranean cruise from Genoa to the Canary Islands, where it will remain until April 2015, offering weekly itineraries to the Canary Islands and Morocco.
