The Port of Malaga carried out a unique operation in Spain yesterday, in collaboration with the Airport and Customs, corresponding to the embarkation and disembarkation of passengers and their luggage.
The ship 'Ventura', from P&O Cruises, belonging to the Carnival Group, arrived at the port at 04:30 hours, from which the disembarkation of 2,309 passengers with their corresponding luggage was carried out, transferred directly from the ship to the airport.
Conversely, a total of 2,319 passengers boarded the same ship to begin their journey from the port, coming from the airport, who checked their luggage in their city of origin and it was transferred directly to the ship.
This operation involves the movement of approximately 5,000 cruise passengers (which has involved a total of 95 bus transfers) and about 6,000 suitcases (which have been taken to the airport from the ship and to the ship from the airport in 10 trucks).
For its part, the Customs and Excise Department of Malaga, integrated into the Malaga AEAT Delegation, collaborated in the operations by coordinating the procedures to carry out its actions at the Cruise Terminal and at Malaga-Costa del Sol Airport.
The operation, which was carried out for the first time in a Spanish port last March from the same ship, represents a high benefit to the passenger and facilitates the work of the shipping company, being an important boost in the service offered by the capital to cruise companies.
Three cruise ships are in the port area today
The stopover of the ship 'Ventura' is completed with the arrival of two other cruise ships that have coincided today in the Port of Malaga, which represents a movement of about 7,000 passengers.
