Silversea, a leader in ultra-luxury cruises, has launched a new series of voyages to Cuba, allowing guests of all nationalities to discover this stunning destination. Departing from the United States to Cuba, for the first time in the company's history, the 17 voyages will unlock unique experiences for Silversea customers, showcasing the best of the country through immersive land excursions to various destinations.
Bookings are now available for the first 5 Silversea voyages offering a fascinating immersion in Cuba.
- Silver Wind will inaugurate its series of voyages to Cuba, departing on February 14, 2019, for a 7-night cruise from San Juan to Fort Lauderdale. The itinerary will include visits to the Cuban cities of Havana and Santiago de Cuba and the Bahamian island of Bimini.
- The newly expanded Silver Spirit will depart from San Juan on a 10-night voyage on February 22, 2019. An overnight stay in Santiago de Cuba will be complemented by stops in Cienfuegos and Havana, as well as stays in George Town, Key West, and Bimini, before ending in Fort Lauderdale.
- Departing from San Juan on March 31, 2019, Silver Wind will call at Santiago de Cuba and Havana on overnight sailings, as well as Cienfuegos, on a 10-night voyage. The itinerary also includes George Town in the Cayman Islands and Bimini.
- Also aboard the Silver Wind, a 9-night round-trip from Fort Lauderdale, departing on April 10 and stopping overnight in Santiago de Cuba and Havana, as well as Bimini, Nassau and Port Canaveral.
- Rounding out the 2019 selection, a 14-night cruise aboard the Silver Whisper will depart from Fort Lauderdale on November 22. The voyage will include a visit to Cienfuegos, plus an overnight stay in Santiago de Cuba and Havana, providing ample time for guests to experience local life. The itinerary also includes stops in Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Belize City, and Key West.
In 2020, 12 more trips are planned to help Silversea guests discover authentic Cuban culture. Bookings for these trips will open soon.

Havana
In the Cuban capital, guests will have the opportunity to see the city's highlights on a scenic drive, accompanied by an expert local guide. They can explore Old Havana, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, on a walking tour that includes demonstrations and tastings of rum and cigars. They can also cruise the long coastline in vintage from the 1950s; be captivated by the Latin rhythms and dancing at the iconic Tropicana Cabaret; enjoy musical performances inspired by La Zorra y el Cuervo, the city's legendary jazz club; and travel beyond the city to the Viñales Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, renowned for its stunning landscape and tobacco cultivation.
Santiago de Cuba
This city, often described as the cultural capital of Cuba, impresses with its wealth of attractions, from colorful buildings and churches to a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It also boasts eclectic museums, charming parks and gardens, and French coffee plantations. Guests will have the opportunity to connect with local culture at historical sites and learn about the Cuban Revolution and the Spanish-American War. They can also delve into Cuban traditions surrounding tobacco, rum, and much more.
Cienfuegos
Nestled in a beautiful natural bay, Cienfuegos showcases Cuba's breathtaking beauty. Originally home to French settlers, the city now boasts a diverse cultural charm, highlighted by a UNESCO World Heritage-listed city center brimming with elegant neoclassical buildings. From here, guests can embark on an exploration of colonial Trinidad, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its cobblestone streets and stunning architecture; experience a local cultural project and the first and only art gallery located in the mountains; or marvel at the waterfalls, natural pools, and lush mountains of El Niche, a pristine park named after its cascading waterfalls.
