Norwegian Cruise Line has announced the dining options aboard its newest ship, the Norwegian Encore, which will launch in October. The new restaurant is the first of its kind and will join others in Scarpetta's extensive portfolio in New York, the Hamptons, Miami, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Newport, Rhode Island, and London.

The name Scarpetta is derived from the Italian expression, 'fare la Scarpetta,' which means to savor a meal to the last bite. Onda, or 'wave' in Italian, will embrace the same spirit and bring the effortless charm and elegance of its urban sister, Scarpetta al Mar. The menu will showcase the rich and bold flavors for which this modern Italian restaurant, including a selection of delectable seafood and signature dishes made daily, such as Scarpetta's famous Spaghetti Tomato and Basil, and the finest desserts in the region, offering guests a true "dolce vita" experience.
“We are passionate about providing innovative and exceptional experiences for our guests, and this exciting collaboration with LDV Hospitality perfectly exemplifies that commitment. Onda by Scarpetta will be the perfect complement to the variety of spectacular offerings available on our soon-to-be-launched Encore in Norway,” said Andy Stuart, CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line.
Onda captures the core design aesthetic of Scarpetta's restaurants, which brings together natural materials like golden walnut and Calacatta marble in an elegant harmony that offers a balance of comfort and refinement created by a contemporary, minimalist, and Italian aesthetic. Meadow, founder and president of LDV Hospitality, comments, “We are thrilled to launch Onda, our first Scarpetta experience at sea. Partnering with Norwegian Cruise Line and allowing us to connect with guests from around the world is an extraordinary opportunity for us.” Many of the restaurants that have made the Breakaway Plus class one of the most innovative and successful in the company's history will be featured on the Norwegian Encore. With numerous dining options, the ship will offer an eclectic mix of culinary delights to suit all tastes, including specialty restaurants such as American Diner for classic American fare; Cagney's Steakhouse, serving prime cuts of meat; Food Republic for a fusion of flavors; Le Bistro, serving the best of French cuisine; and Los Lobos for premium Mexican food. Ocean Blue, offering fresh seafood dishes; Q, serving authentic Texas barbecue or Teppanyaki, for an entertaining Hibachi-style experience
The company also offers restaurants included in the price, such as Garden Café, a buffet serving all three meals of the day, and main dining options like Manhattan Room, Savor and Taste, The Local Bar and Grill (serving 24-hour meals), and The Haven Restaurant, exclusive to guests of The Haven by Norwegian®.
