Cathay Pacific suggests taking advantage of autumn to travel to Asia-Pacific with fewer crowds and discover destinations such as South Korea, Chengdu, Australia, Da Nang and Hong Kong.
The company proposes five destinations for those looking to take advantage of this time of year to travel outside of peak season.
South Korea: Between Tradition and Modernity. Autumn transforms South Korea with golden, orange, and reddish hues that blanket mountains, palaces, temples, and traditional neighborhoods. In Seoul, it's a great time to explore the gardens of Joseon Dynasty palaces or the mountain trails surrounding the capital.
The tour can continue to Daegu, where temples and traditional markets coexist with the autumnal landscapes of the Palgongsan mountains, or to Busan, where the vegetation-covered mountains meet the sea.
– Chengdu, a different approach to China. Compared to destinations like Beijing or Shanghai, Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan, offers a more relaxed approach to China. The city, recognized by UNESCO as a City of Gastronomy, combines its culinary tradition with tea houses and one of its main attractions: the giant panda, whose most famous sanctuary is located on the outskirts.
– Australia, a southern spring away from the crowds. While autumn arrives in Europe, Australia begins its spring, a perfect time to discover some of its destinations with fewer tourists than during the southern summer.
Adelaide, considered one of the country's wine capitals, and Brisbane, with its beaches, natural spaces and cultural offerings, are two options to enjoy Australia with more pleasant temperatures and a lower concentration of visitors.
– Da Nang, on Vietnam's central coast. Vietnam's central coast combines beaches, heritage, and gastronomy. Da Nang and nearby Hoi An offer the chance to discover this region with fewer tourists than other more established Asian destinations.
Hoi An, whose historic center is a World Heritage Site, completes a proposal that combines culture, gastronomy and coastline, in an environment still far removed from the overcrowding of other tourist enclaves in Asia.
– Hong Kong, an alternative to the summer heat. After the hot and humid months, autumn offers more favorable conditions for discovering Hong Kong, with milder temperatures and clearer skies.
Beyond its well-known skyline and commercial areas, nearly 40% of its territory is occupied by natural spaces, with rural parks and hiking trails that allow you to discover a different side of the city.
Hong Kong is also Cathay Pacific's main connection point to the Asia-Pacific region. The airline operates daily direct flights from Madrid and, seasonally, also from Barcelona until October 24.
Cathay Pacific has launched a special campaign with reduced fares during September. The promotion is available for bookings made until October 2, 2026, for travel between September 10, 2026, and June 30, 2027, with certain dates excluded. Cathay members also enjoy additional benefits. In the Spanish section of the promotion, they can access discounts and additional Asia Miles per person during the first two weeks of September, according to the campaign terms.
