Silversea has set sail on its 2026 Grand South Pacific Expedition. This 77-day voyage runs from Fremantle (Perth), Western Australia, to Valparaíso, Chile, aboard the Silver Cloud. The voyage calls at 57 destinations in 11 countries, sailing along Australia’s Kimberley coast before continuing across the South Pacific to Easter Island and South America, arriving in Valparaíso on November 4, 2026.
This voyage also marks the end of another season of expeditions in the Kimberley for Silversea, bringing to a close months of wildlife encounters, cultural experiences, and Zodiac exploration along Australia's remote northwest coast.

FROM KIMBERLEY TO THE MARQUESSAS: A JOURNEY ACROSS THE SOUTH PACIFIC
- FROM FREMANTLE (PERTH) TO DARWIN: The journey begins along the coast of Western Australia—the Abrolhos Islands, Cape Peron (Shark Bay), North Muiron Island, the Montebello Islands, and the Dampier Archipelago—before heading into the Kimberley to visit Adele Island, the Buccaneer Archipelago, the Hunter River region, Ashmore Reef, Swift Bay, and the King George River, concluding in Darwin. There, guests will have the opportunity to explore the abundant marine life of Montgomery Reef or go ashore at Swift Bay to see the ancient Gwion Gwion rock art galleries.
- FROM DARWIN TO LAUTOKA: Twenty-one destinations across six countries take the ship from the Raja Ampat region and Cenderawasih Bay in Indonesia, through Vanimo, Madang, and Rabaul in Papua New Guinea, to Santa Ana in the Solomon Islands and Ambrym Island in Vanuatu, before arriving in Lautoka, Fiji. Along the way, guests can explore the limestone cliffs of Kokas, Indonesia, in search of ancient rock art, and witness the traditional Rom dancers of Ambrym, whose masked performances have been passed down from generation to generation.
- FROM LAUTOKA TO PAPEETE, TAHITI: From Lautoka, the ship sails through 14 destinations and four countries—Taveuni and the Ringgold Islands in Fiji, the Vava’u Group in Tonga, Rarotonga and Aitutaki in the Cook Islands—before reaching Bora Bora and Rangiroa in French Polynesia and concluding its journey in Papeete. Guests can snorkel among vibrant reefs off Euaiki Island in Tonga and swim alongside blacktip reef sharks and stingrays in the legendary lagoon of Bora Bora.
- FROM PAPEETE TO VALPARAÍSO: The final leg of the journey covers 12 destinations in three countries, visiting the wild and beautiful Marquesas Islands (Hiva Oa, Nuku Hiva, Fatu Hiva) and Mangareva in French Polynesia, Adamstown on Pitcairn Island, and Easter Island and Robinson Crusoe Island in Chile, before concluding in Valparaíso. By Zodiac, guests can explore Fatu Hiva’s Bay of the Virgins beneath spectacular volcanic spires, and on Pitcairn Island, meet the descendants of the mutineers of the HMS Bounty in one of the world’s most remote inhabited settlements.
TWO EXCLUSIVE EVENTS: THE OUTBACK AND RAPA NUI
Silversea's Grand Voyages offer exclusive cultural experiences through a series of tailor-made events planned exclusively for guests. During the 2026 Grand South Pacific Expedition, these include:
- Northern Territories Adventure (Finniss River Lodge, Darwin, Australia): On September 6, guests will spend a day at Finniss River Lodge, a 50,000-acre working cattle ranch in Australia’s Northern Territory. The day includes an off-road vehicle tour through the property’s melaleuca forests and a helicopter flight over the surrounding wetlands, escarpments, and the Finniss River, concluding with a lunch featuring seasonal regional produce.
- Toki, A Hope for the Future (Easter Island, Chile): On October 26, guests will gather at Toki Rapa Nui, a cultural center on Easter Island founded to preserve Rapa Nui heritage. The afternoon will feature a concert by pianist Mahani Teave, founder of the Toki School of Music, a visit to the moai at Tahai, and a performance of the traditional hoko war dance.

RECAP OF THE 2026 SEASON IN KIMBERLEY
The Silver Cloud’s departure also marks the end of Silversea’s expedition season in the Kimberley, which consisted of 10 voyages between May 8 and September 6, calling at 25 destinations along Australia’s remote northwest coast. This season’s Zodiac excursions focused on the King George River Falls, Montgomery Reef, the Horizontal Falls, and the Hunter River region, with the return of Raft Point to the itinerary after a long absence being a particular highlight.
Wildlife sightings were a constant attraction throughout the season, including saltwater crocodiles and Australian flat-finned dolphins along the Hunter River and Porosus Creek; turtles and abundant birdlife on Montgomery Reef; as well as seabirds, tiger sharks, and bottlenose dolphins on Ashmore Reef. Cultural visits to Freshwater Cove, Swift Bay, and Jar Island featured“Welcome to Country” ceremonies and Indigenous rock art experiences throughout the season, supported by Silversea’s expedition team.
