National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions has unveiled its highly anticipated itinerary for 2028–2029, featuring a new season of expeditions that will allow travelers to venture even deeper into the fjords, reach more remote areas of the South Pacific, and spend more time exploring the polar regions and their ice fields.
With a track record of 60 years of experience in expeditions, the company has carefully designed its new itineraries—as well as those that are being expanded or revived—to coincide with some of nature’s most spectacular moments. All of them will be led by experts specializing in each destination.
The 2028–2029 season features new itineraries and route expansions in Antarctica, the Arctic, Alaska, Europe, and the South Pacific. Highlights include Christmas cruises to Antarctica, longer expeditions to the Arctic, river cruises in Europe, and a return to French Polynesia, where the company will offer rare access to Makatea.
Makatea is the only raised atoll in French Polynesia and is known for its sea cliffs, limestone caves, and a grotto with stalactites that visitors can reach by swimming.
Each expedition will be led by experienced expedition leaders, captains, and naturalists, whose in-depth knowledge of the destinations will provide passengers with a broader perspective and a more enriching experience, bringing each place we visit to life.
The new itinerary joins the company's lineup of polar and nature expeditions, which includes trips to Antarctica and the Arctic aboard specialized ships such as the National Geographic Resolution, National Geographic Explorer, and National Geographic Endurance.
They also include European river cruises that combine cultural immersion with exclusive access and off-hours experiences. Passengers will have the opportunity to meet Holocaust survivors and hear their stories in Amsterdam, enjoy private, off-hours tours of Melk Abbey and Clam Castle, and experience cruising through the Christmas markets along the Danube.
