Viking welcomes the Viking Dagur, the newest addition to its Viking Longships fleet. The Viking Dagur was built at Meyer’s Neptun Werft shipyard in Rostock-Warnemünde, Germany. With a capacity of 190 passengers, the ship joins the company’s growing fleet of modern sister ships and will operate on some of Viking’s most popular itineraries along the Rhine, Main, and Danube rivers.

With a capacity for 190 passengers in 95 staterooms, the Viking Dagur features the elegant Scandinavian design and industry-leading innovations for which Viking is renowned. Notable features include the patented square bow, which allows for three full decks; the indoor and outdoor Aquavit Terrace; and the unique asymmetrical layout of the corridors, which makes it possible to offer true two-room suites.
The Viking Dagur will sail some of the company's most popular itineraries, such as Rhine Getaway, Paris to the Swiss Alps, Christmas on the Rhine, and Christmas on the Rhine & Moselle.
Viking remains focused on its long-term growth strategy and remains committed to its goal of establishing itself as a global leader in experiential travel. Based on its confirmed order book, the company plans to add 21 additional river ships by 2028, nine new ocean-going ships by 2031, and two new expedition ships, also by 2031.
With these additions, Viking will have 114 river ships by 2028 and a fleet of 26 ocean-going and expedition ships by 2031.
