Heritage Expeditions has unveiled seven new itineraries to mark the launch of the inaugural 2027–2028 season of its new ship, the Heritage Discoverer. Formerly known as the Silver Explorer, the Heritage Discoverer will star in a highly anticipated first season in which the family-owned and operated New Zealand company will resume its renowned expeditions to the High Arctic and the Antarctic Peninsula, while also introducing, for the first time, explorations along the coasts of Europe and the Atlantic.
The owners and directors of Heritage Expeditions, Aaron Russ and Nathan Russ, described the addition of the new ship and the launch of these carefully designed itineraries as a defining moment in the company’s more than 40-year history.
“This marks the beginning of a new era and the launch of a truly global expedition cruise offering for Heritage Expeditions and our guests,” Nathan said.
Aaron Russ added: “Today marks an exciting new chapter for Heritage Expeditions as we set a new course while upholding our legacy of authentic and responsible expedition travel on small ships to some of the wildest, least explored, and most biologically diverse regions on the planet.”
"We are delighted to return to some familiar destinations aboard our new ship, the Heritage Discoverer, and to explore new waters with all-new itineraries, bringing our unique expedition experience to some of the world's most extraordinary regions."
The new itineraries combine expeditions to some of the most remote natural and wildlife destinations on the planet, such as Svalbard, Iceland, Greenland, South Georgia, the Falkland Islands, and the Faroe Islands, as well as the Hebrides, Orkney, Shetland, and the Channel Islands.
They also include visits to UNESCO World Heritage sites, prehistoric monuments, architectural gems, cultural capitals, and prestigious wine regions along the coasts of Spain, Portugal, and France.
To celebrate the launch of the Heritage Discoverer’s inaugural 2027–2028 season, Heritage Expeditions is offering a special promotion featuring a 20% discount on all seats and an additional 10% for returning customers on bookings made before August 31, 2026.
