Villa Vie Residences has announced the addition of Legacy, its second residential cruise ship, which is scheduled to enter service in early 2029. The new vessel will mark a significant step in the company’s expansion, coinciding with the commercial success of the Villa Vie Odyssey, which has already sold more than 85% of its available residences.
The official unveiling of Legacy will take place during the celebration of the Odyssey’s second anniversary of continuous sailing around the world, an event at which the company will reveal the ship’s final design, its itineraries, public spaces, and available ownership options.
According to Villa Vie, Legacy will offer a premium residential experience, with units approximately 50% larger than those in Odyssey, new dining venues, larger public spaces, expanded wellness facilities, and improved services.
Along with the announcement of the new ship, the company has unveiled the Legacy Bridge Program, an initiative limited to 24 new owners that will allow them to move aboard the Villa Vie Odyssey immediately and later transfer to an equivalent residence on the Legacy once it enters service, at no additional cost for the transition. The promotion will be available for the first 24 purchases finalized before September 30, 2026.
In addition, current and future owners in the Endless Horizons lifetime residency program will automatically receive permanent residency rights on the new ship as well, without having to make a new purchase or pay renewal fees.
With Legacy, Villa Vie is embarking on a new phase in its growth strategy, which aims to develop a fleet of residential cruise ships offering a variety of lifestyle options at sea, while maintaining its concept of continuous sailing around the world.
“Our goal is not simply to build another ship, but to develop a fleet that offers our residents more options and rewards those who believed in this vision from the very beginning. Legacy is the first step toward that future,” said the company’s president, Mikael Petterson.
The addition of this second vessel will strengthen Villa Vie's position in the growing residential cruise segment, a model that combines home ownership with the opportunity to travel the world on a permanent basis.
