The new director will be responsible for maintaining ongoing communication with public administrations, institutions, the maritime and port community, the tourism sector, and key stakeholders. His work will focus on promoting the exchange of information, dialogue, and collaboration between the association and the various stakeholders in the sector.

According to Alfredo Serrano, director of CLIA in Spain, the creation of this new position reflects the association's commitment to Catalonia and to the sustainable development of the cruise industry.

“The creation of the position of CLIA director in Catalonia reflects the sector’s commitment to the Catalan region and the importance of ports such as Barcelona—a global leader—and Tarragona. His experience and knowledge of the Catalan region will be key to continuing to foster a close and robust relationship with the local ecosystem, as we move forward together toward a sustainable, balanced tourism model that generates value for the region,” Serrano notes.

For his part, Martí Sáez emphasized that he is approaching this new phase with the goal of continuing to strengthen collaboration between the industry and the region. “My commitment is to help strengthen the dialogue between the sector and the Catalan community, fostering opportunities for collaboration that allow us to address the present and future of the cruise industry with rigor, an open ear, and progress toward shared models,” he said.

A specialist in corporate communications, public affairs, and institutional relations, Martí Sáez has extensive experience in strategic communications, political communications, and consulting, advising both companies and institutions on communications, positioning, and institutional relations.

He holds a bachelor's degree in Journalism and Corporate Communication from Ramon Llull-Blanquerna University and a master's degree in Political and Corporate Communication from the University of Navarra; he has supplemented this education with a specialized program in Political Communications & Public Affairs at George Washington University.

With this appointment, CLIA reaffirms its commitment to strengthening its institutional presence in Catalonia—considered a strategic region for the sector—and to continuing to promote a growth model based on dialogue, collaboration, and the sustainable development of the cruise industry.
