Nicko Cruises has unveiled its new catalog, “Around the World and Grand Voyages 2027/28,” which once again features the ocean liner VASCO DA GAMA as its star attraction. The itinerary includes a 172-day round-the-world voyage, departing from and returning to Lisbon, which will visit six continents and 41 countries, as well as a wide range of long-distance cruises that can be booked individually or freely combined.

Nicko Cruises presenta su programa de Vueltas al Mundo y Grandes Viajes 2027/28 a bordo del VASCO DA GAMAThe Grand World Cruise will set sail on November 4, 2027, from the Portuguese capital and will follow nine major itineraries, offering the option to take the entire voyage, choose the so-called “Short World Cruise”—a 125-day journey between Panama City and Lisbon—or select any of the individual routes.

The first leg takes travelers from Lisbon to the Caribbean, with stops in the Azores, the Canary Islands, and Cape Verde, before setting out across the Atlantic toward Barbados and Martinique.

The second itinerary spends two weeks exploring some of the Caribbean's most iconic destinations, including Saint Lucia, Dominica, Guadeloupe, Montserrat, Antigua, Saint Kitts, the British Virgin Islands, and the Dominican Republic.

From there, the VASCO DA GAMA continues on to Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, Belize, Honduras, San Andrés, and Costa Rica, before embarking on one of the most iconic moments of any great cruise: the complete transit through the Panama Canal, including a visit to the Miraflores Locks.

The fourth leg of the round-the-world cruise will take passengers to celebrate Christmas in Costa Rica and Guatemala, before continuing along the Mexican Pacific coast with stops in Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas, where they will ring in the New Year with a fireworks display over the bay.

After several days at sea, the ship will reach French Polynesia, visiting the Marquesas Islands, the Tuamotu Archipelago, Moorea, and Tahiti.

The journey continues through some of the most iconic destinations in the South Pacific, such as Bora Bora, the Cook Islands, Tonga, Fiji, Vanuatu, Mystery Island, and Nouméa, before arriving in Sydney, one of Australia's greatest tourist icons.

The VASCO DA GAMA will then sail along Australia's east coast, with stops in Brisbane, Townsville, Cairns, and Darwin, and will also offer the opportunity to take a shore excursion to Uluru (Ayers Rock) and explore the Great Barrier Reef.

The itinerary continues on to Indonesia, where travelers will visit Timor, Komodo, Bali, Java, and the Borobudur Temple—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—before concluding this leg of the trip in Jakarta.

From Indonesia, the itinerary continues on to Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand, with the option of taking a land tour to India.

The following itinerary will allow you to explore the Comoros, Madagascar, Mauritius, Réunion, and various destinations in South Africa, combining tropical beaches, national parks, and safaris to see some of the most iconic animals on the African continent.

The final leg of the round-the-world cruise will follow the African coast, with stops in Durban, the Garden Route, Addo Elephant National Park, Cape Town, Table Mountain, the Cape of Good Hope, Walvis Bay (Namibia), Luanda (Angola), Ilhéu Bom Bom Island, and Tenerife, where passengers will be able to visit Teide National Park.

After 172 days at sea, the VASCO DA GAMA will return to Lisbon on April 24, 2028, completing one of the most ambitious projects in the cruise industry.

With a capacity of approximately 1,000 passengers, the VASCO DA GAMA is designed to provide a comfortable experience during long-distance voyages.

The ship features five restaurants, seven bars and lounges, a heated main pool with a retractable panoramic roof, a second pool at the stern, a gym, a jogging track, outdoor sports facilities, and a spacious wellness area with a sauna and steam room.

The dining options combine buffet-style restaurants with live cooking stations and à la carte restaurants, while entertainment includes daily shows at Hollywood’s Theatre, live music, cultural activities, and onboard enrichment programs.

Passengers can choose from 15 cabin categories, ranging from interior cabins to spacious suites, with sizes ranging from 13 to 102 square meters.
