Royal Caribbean has celebrated a major milestone in the construction of the seventh ship in the Oasis class with a keel-laying ceremony at Chantiers de l’Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire, France. The event officially marks the start of assembly for the cruise line’s new ship and kicks off the next two years of construction leading up to its highly anticipated debut in 2028.
During the ceremony, teams from Royal Caribbean and Chantiers de l’Atlantique placed a layer of newly minted coins under the first steel block in the dry dock, known as the keel. This long-standing maritime tradition marks the beginning of the ship’s journey, wishing good luck to the ship, its crew, and future vacationers.
The ship, which will be named at a later date, will join the revolutionary Oasis-class fleet in 2028 and will offer bold new adventures, outstanding dining, immersive entertainment, and experiences designed for all types of vacationers.
