Silversea has unveiled the interior spaces of its new 150-room hotel, The Cormorant at 55 South, in Puerto Williams, designed to streamline travel to one of the world’s most remote destinations and enhance the overall guest experience. Scheduled to open in October 2026, The Cormorant at 55 South, named for its unique location and the hardy seabird, will be a key component of Silversea’s innovative Antarctica Fly Cruise program, offering some of the most diverse polar experiences in luxury travel.

Silversea's innovative Antarctica Fly Cruise itineraries—which allow guests to bypass the Drake Passage—will include a hotel stay in Santiago, Chile, followed by a direct charter flight to Puerto Williams, where guests will spend an overnight stay at The Cormorant at 55 South before continuing to King George Island for embarkation. Upon their return, they will again spend an overnight stay at the hotel before flying back to Santiago.
Guests will also have the opportunity to explore the natural beauty of Puerto Williams through activities such as nature walks, hiking, kayaking, and wildlife viewing, further enriching their expedition experience. The hotel will operate seasonally from October to March and will feature staff trained at The Silversea Way, reflecting the brand's philosophy of personalized service, destination knowledge, and meticulous attention to guest needs.
