Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) today announced the upcoming premiere of “Rocket Man: A Celebration of Elton John,” a hit-filled tribute to the legendary icon, and the groundbreaking mixed-reality show “HIKO,” slated to premiere in March 2026.
Developed by Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings’ award-winning Creative Studios in Tampa, Florida, these productions are designed to captivate everyone from music lovers and pop culture enthusiasts to multigenerational families, and to complement the robust offering of new and recurring experiences that elevate entertainment at sea and reflect NCL’s bold shift toward immersive, headline-worthy programming.
Passengers will be dazzled by “Rocket Man: A Celebration of Elton John,” an energetic Elton John concert-style show created from elements of Elton’s audiovisual materials. To celebrate the legendary career of the EGOT winner, the onboard production will feature timeless hits such as “Rocket Man,” “Tiny Dancer,” “Bennie and the Jets,” “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart,” and many more.
“Norwegian Cruise Line has a proud history of revolutionizing entertainment at sea, from pioneering Broadway-quality onboard productions to continually creating original and exclusive NCL experiences,” said Harry Sommer, President and Chief Executive Officer of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. “As a lifelong music fan, I’m especially excited to celebrate the work of Elton John, an icon whose influence spans generations, with a show as dynamic and unforgettable as the artist himself. With Norwegian Luna, we continue that tradition by offering spectacular new productions and immersive programming designed to surprise and delight our guests.”.
The Norwegian Luna will also debut “LunaTique,” the ship’s exclusive production for guests 21 and older, along with “Syd Norman’s Presents: A Tribute to Eagles™,” a brand-new tribute show performed by the fan-favorite Syd Norman cast. Guests can also enjoy two brand-new, completely redesigned deck parties: Island Nights™ and LatinLIVE!™, both designed to bring even more excitement to nights at sea.
Rocket Man: A Celebration of Elton John™, a bold, hit-filled tribute to the pioneering and universally beloved Elton John, is a production featuring powerful vocals, stunning choreography, and cutting-edge costumes that pay homage to Elton's signature style. Set on a concert-inspired stage with vibrant LED visuals and a breathtaking set design that includes four different grand pianos, the show immerses audiences in the music and spirit of one of the most iconic artists of all time.
Inspired by the celestial spirit of the Norwegian Luna, “HIKO: Innovation Meets Wonder” is a new, otherworldly production that combines state-of-the-art 3D mapping, multi-sensory video projection, and an all-original, exclusive NCL soundtrack to transport passengers to a futuristic world. For the first time, NCL introduces an original character, HIKO, with whom passengers can interact throughout the Norwegian Luna in an interactive experience that brings the magic of the show to life beyond the stage.
Norwegian Cruise Line is proud to present “Sea of Discovery! An Under-the-Sea Festival,” an original, one-of-a-kind experience developed in-house and designed specifically for children.
Following the success and popularity of “Syd Norman’s Presents: Rumours”, Norwegian Luna will present a new show, “Syd Norman’s Presents: A Tribute to Eagles”, which will bring classic rock anthems and the spirit of the 70s to the main stage of the Luna Theater for more spectators to enjoy.
Meanwhile, Syd Norman's Pour House, the bar and entertainment space inspired by the famous Los Angeles rock scene of the 1960s, is being revamped on board the Norwegian Luna with exciting new additions, including a retro 1990s decor and karaoke with a live band.
LunaTique, making its debut on Norwegian Luna, will be the ship's exclusive production for guests 21 and older at The Improv at Sea, an intimate and highly popular venue for NCL comedy shows. Inspired by the excitement, glitz, and nonstop energy of Las Vegas nightlife, this vibrant evening experience features a neon aesthetic, signature cocktails, and live performances.
NCL is also ramping up deck parties aboard the Norwegian Luna with two all-new party concepts:
- Island Nights brings the vibrant spirit of the islands to life with a modern pop twist at sea.
- Latin LIVE! will liven up the pool deck with multiple percussionists, a live band and dynamic vocalists, as well as live dance performances that will keep everyone dancing all night long.
“Creating the entertainment program for Norwegian Luna has been an incredible and very rewarding experience,” added Bryan White, Vice President of Entertainment Production at Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. “We are fortunate to collaborate with the most innovative and respected creators in the industry, allowing us to continue raising the bar and offering our guests the world-class entertainment for which NCL is known. From captivating tribute concerts to stunning original productions, our programming has something to offer guests of all ages, providing unforgettable experiences for everyone on board.
