The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has confirmed that the Council of Ministers approved the appointment of Gustavo Santana as the new president of State Ports, replacing Álvaro Rodríguez.
With this appointment at State Ports, the three large companies that depend on the Ministry have renewed their presidencies, as is the case of the railway infrastructure manager Adif and the train operator Renfe.
During his professional career, he has held positions of public responsibility such as Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport of the Government of the Canary Islands; Vice President and Managing Director of the Public Business Entity Puertos Canarios.
In addition, in the private and teaching sectors, he has been a manager of passenger and freight shipping companies, a naval and industrial engineering consultant, and an associate professor at ULPGC in the Naval Engineering Degree program.
