Silversea has set sail on its 2025 World Cruise, Controtempo, inviting guests to experience a different kind of travel to 59 destinations in 30 countries. It departed from Tokyo on January 13, 2025, and will arrive in New York on May 29, 2025.

True to its musical origins, Controtempo was designed to rediscover the off-tempo and different world, offering a deeper and more unexpected, authentic and unfiltered experience, providing unique perspectives on the most iconic and off-the-beaten-path destinations.
Controtempo will offer a unique perspective on each destination through authentic, local experiences designed to uncover local stories and secrets. Divided into nine segments visiting 59 destinations in 30 countries, guests will have the opportunity to discover some of the world's most iconic cities, including Tokyo and Paris, as well as off-the-beaten-path destinations, including 19 that are new to a Silversea World Cruise.
Upon arrival in Tokyo, guests enjoyed a preview of the impeccable Silversea World Cruise experience, including an airside meet and greet, a -hosted hospitality suite , and a Bon Voyage luncheon celebration. Following the Bon Voyage celebration, guests proceeded to the terminal, where they were greeted by Japanese drumming provided by the City of Tokyo as a send-off for their Controtempo adventure.
Guests will journey deeper through a collection of unique events from Silversea's World Cruises and Grand Voyages. During Controtempo, guests will gain a unique perspective on the world through seven exclusive events, including:
- The Art of Departure: A Washoku Lunch (Tokyo) – On January 13, 2025, World Cruise guests experienced the prelude to their journey with a special farewell lunch at the legendary Happo-en in a sensory feast of local dishes paired with fine Japanese wines.
- Hoi An for Foodies (Vietnam) – On February 1, 2025, guests of Controtempo will prepare for an evening of sensory discovery beginning with a sunset cruise on the rivers of Hoi An, followed by an exquisite meal at a restaurant.
- Singapore: A Bird's Eye View (Singapore) – On February 7, 2025, guests will have exclusive access to the iconic Sky Park Observation Deck in Singapore, which has been privatized for Controtempo guests.
- Dinner Between the Dunes (Namibia) – Under the Namibian sky, an unforgettable night will unfold among the dunes of the Namib Desert, with a feast of local specialties, served with fine South African wines.
- An Evening with Marie Antoinette in Versailles (France) – Guests will enjoy a spectacular gala evening and dinner in one of France's most impressive palaces, where they will experience rare private access to Versailles for a unique night in the home of Marie Antoinette, the last Queen of France.
- The World Through Our Eyes (Sweden) – In Stockholm, guests will enjoy a photographic exhibition created exclusively for Controtempo: “The World Through Our Eyes.” A journey showcasing faces, places, and more, accompanied by a culinary experience curated by emerging Scandinavian chefs and set to a Swedish soundtrack by ABBA.
- An Iconic Musical Farewell (Boston, USA) – Guests will embark on a musical journey around the world through an inspiring 80-minute concert, making the end of their trip unforgettable. It will be held at Boston Symphony Hall.
