Norwegian Cruise Line announced that two-time Emmy® Award-winning actor Eric Stonestreet will be the godfather of NCL's newest ship, Norwegian Aqua, which will be launched in April 2025.
Eric Stonestreet is best known for his work on the television show “Modern Family.” His unforgettable portrayal of Cameron Tucker earned him two Primetime Emmy® Awards. He can currently be seen in the second season of “The Santa Clauses,” one of Disney+’s most-watched original series.

Stonestreet will play a key role in the official welcoming of the Norwegian Aqua to the NCL fleet as the ship's godfather. On April 13, 2025, in Miami, Stonestreet will lead the time-honored tradition of christening the ship by breaking a bottle of champagne on the bow.

After completing its maiden voyage, the Norwegian Aqua will depart on seven-day itineraries from Port Canaveral beginning April 26, 2025. These Caribbean voyages include stops in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; Tortola, British Virgin Islands; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; and Great Stirrup Cay, NCL’s private island in the Bahamas, which will feature a new pier by the end of 2025. Following its inaugural cruise season, the Norwegian Aqua will offer five- and seven-day voyages to Bermuda from New York City from August 2025 through October 2025, and from May 2026 through October 2026. The Norwegian Aqua will return to Miami to sail five- and seven-day Eastern Caribbean itineraries from October 2025 through April 2026 and from November 2026 through March 2027.
As NCL’s first Prima Plus class ship, Norwegian Aqua will feature even more amenities and experiences, including the Aqua Slidecoaster; a new, high-tech digital sports complex, the Glow Court; the Aqua Game Zone, a reimagined version of the Galaxy Pavilion; and the company’s arcade offerings. In addition, Norwegian Aqua will feature NCL’s first three-bedroom duplex suites within The Haven on Norwegian®, the premium resort boasting a spacious sundeck, an infinity pool overlooking the ship’s stern, a private lounge and bar, and ocean views from every space.
For sailings departing on or after January 1, 2025, the company's new More At Sea™ package offers travelers enhanced value with an unlimited open bar featuring more premium beverage brands, more specialty dining credit, and more high-speed Wi-Fi minutes powered by Starlink.
