An analysis by the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce reveals that agri-food companies in Catalonia could experience an impressive increase in their turnover by supplying cruise lines.

If this potential is realized, they could multiply their income from the current 5.2 million annually to more than 71 million, thus obtaining a market share of 14.5%.
This study highlights Catalonia's privileged position in agri-food production, as well as the presence of key logistics centers such as Mercabarna. Furthermore, it emphasizes the strategic importance of the Port of Barcelona, a leading cruise port in the Mediterranean, whose role facilitates operations and extends ships' stays in port.
To capitalize on these opportunities, it is suggested to adapt supply and cargo services to meet the specific demands of the cruise industry, improve coordination between companies, and strengthen relationships with shipping lines to maintain fluid and effective communication.
