Paula Cabaço, president of APRAM, stated that this initiative is the beginning of a series of actions aimed at improving the environmental quality of the city, with the support of the Funchal City Council and the active participation of Vincent Cofalka, captain of the AIDAcosma, and other members of the cruise ship's crew.

This gesture, though symbolic, reflects the commitment of both APRAM and the cruise industry, represented by AIDA Cruises, to environmental protection, sustainability, and decarbonization. Paula Cabaço emphasized the importance of sustainable business growth that respects the natural environment.

The day included a visit to the Reception and Interpretation Center of the Ecological Park, where the representatives of AIDA Cruises learned about the importance of the park for the environmental balance of the city.

Vincent Cofalka reaffirmed the company's commitment to sustainability, highlighting the investments made in the fleet of ships and in environmentally friendly practices.

AIDA Cruises' commitment to environmental preservation extends beyond tourism, also encompassing agriculture and forestry, which are fundamental aspects of Madeira's local economy.

The planting of native and endemic trees in the Ecological Park is a tangible step towards sustainable tourism and long-term cooperation for the benefit of the environment and the local community.
