Costa Cruises will deploy three ships in South America in 2024-25. According to a press release, the Costa Diadema, Costa Pacifica, and Costa Favolosa will be based in the region during the season, which runs from November 2024 to April 2025.
The Costa Diadema plans to offer new itineraries sailing between Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay. Departing weekly from Santos and Itajaí, the 3,700-passenger ship will offer regular cruises to Buenos Aires and Montevideo.
Also offering short cruises from Santos, the Diadema will once again be Costa's largest cruise ship in the region.
The Costa Pacifica will also offer a new set of itineraries during the 2024-25 season. Returning to Brazil after a four-year hiatus, the cruise ship, built in 2009, will be based in Santos and Rio de Janeiro.
During its three-month program in the country, the Pacifica will offer a series of domestic cruises of three to eight nights that will include visits to popular destinations, including Ilhabela, Porto Belo, Búzios, Angra dos Reis and Balneário Camboriú.
For the first time, the ship will also anchor off Santos on December 31 to witness the city's New Year's fireworks display.
Finally, the Costa Favolosa will sail between Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil. Offering additional itinerary options in the region, the 3,012-passenger ship will sail a regular eight-night cruise that includes visits to Rio de Janeiro, Ilhabela, Balneário Camboriú, Ilha Grande, Montevideo, and Buenos Aires.
