Explora Journeys has revealed that Sylvia Earle, world-renowned oceanographer, explorer and conservationist, will be the Godmother of its first ship, the EXPLORA I.
Earle is a renowned pioneer in deep-sea exploration and has dedicated her life to ocean conservation. A staunch advocate for the protection of marine ecosystems and life, she possesses internationally recognized expertise and authority. Her collaboration with Explora Journeys underscores the brand's commitment to sustainable luxury cruising and the preservation of ocean habitats.
As Godmother of EXPLORA I, Sylvia Earle will be in charge of christening the ship during the ceremony that will take place in Civitavecchia (near Rome, Italy) on July 8.

The EXPLORA I is the first ship in a planned fleet of up to six luxury cruise ships and has been designed to offer its guests the utmost comfort during their voyage, while minimizing its environmental impact. To achieve this, it employs the most advanced environmental technologies and is prepared to incorporate alternative energy solutions as soon as they become available.
The EXPLORA I will depart on July 17, 2023 from Southampton (United Kingdom) for its 15-night inaugural voyage entitled "An inaugural cruise to the epic fjords and the Arctic Circle.".
