MSC Cruises has kicked off a double departure aboard MSC Magnifica and MSC Poesia on routes that will take passengers around the world, visiting up to 53 destinations in 33 countries.
The MSC Poesia and the MSC Magnifica have picked up passengers in Citavecchia and Genoa (Italy); and Marseille (France), and Barcelona, this being the last place where the two cruise ships will meet at the same time and where they will separate to embark on these two voyages.
Another reason why this edition of MSC World Cruise will make history is the number of Spanish passengers taking the trip: 591 Spaniards have signed up, and of these, 278 will embark on the usual MSC World Cruise ship, MSC Magnifica; while 313 will embark on the great adventure aboard MSC Poesia, the new ship that has been added this time.
During the 17-week voyage, cruise passengers will sail across five continents, discovering diverse cultures around the world. While passengers on the MSC Magnifica will explore South America, the South Pacific Ocean, and the Indian Ocean, continuing their journey to the mystical Arabian Sea, passing through the Red Sea, and returning to the Mediterranean via the incredible Suez Canal; those on the MSC Poesia will discover Central America, the US West Coast, travel to Oceania, and then head up the Pacific Ocean to the exotic coasts of Japan and China, also returning to the Mediterranean via the Red Sea and the Suez Canal.
On board the MSC Magnifica, passengers will enjoy a 117-day cruise, visiting different countries and cultures, such as Argentina, Chile, Peru, and the Cook Islands, as well as Australia, New Caledonia, Indonesia, Malaysia, India, and Jordan.
On the other hand, the MSC Poesia, the second ship that the shipping company has positioned for this double round-the-world voyage, will undertake a 119-day trip visiting Costa Rica, San Francisco and Hawaii in the USA, Japan, China, Vietnam, and Jordan, among others.
Passengers will enjoy the comfort and style of MSC Cruises, along with a wide range of entertainment options. To further enrich the experience, MSC Cruises has carefully curated a special program that includes everything from ice carving and champagne tasting to a wide array of lectures on specialized topics, over 30 large-scale shows, guest artists, dance classes, language schools, and much more.
In addition to international dining options, those sailing on the 2023 world cruises will experience something truly special: menus crafted by a group of award-winning chefs. These chefs will join the cruises at various intervals to prepare a complete three- to four-course menu, each showcasing the best of their culinary expertise.
- On board both ships: Allan Vila Espejo, will serve a menu that includes an authentic cassava soup and a Bahia-style fish stew with sweet peppers and coconut milk.
- On board MSC Magnifica: Renowned Peruvian chefJames Berckemeyerwill serve a menu that includes Peruvian beef cheek and a local caramel pudding called 'Lucuma Sigh'.
- On board MSC Poesia: Japanese-American chef Roy Yamaguchi will serve a signature menu featuring a grilled teriyaki pork chop with Hawaiian chimichurri. Additionally, Niklas Ekstedt, the Michelin-starred Swedish chef, television personality, and author, will serve dishes inspired by natural ingredients and his farm-to-ocean ethos.
The chefs will also be on hand to greet passengers in person while they enjoy their delicious dishes in the ship's main restaurants.
