Fincantieri and Viking have finalized contracts for the third and fourth vessels. The companies also signed a contract for the fifth and sixth units, subject to financing.
The total value of these orders is around 1.7 billion euros and deliveries are planned for 2026 and 2027, and two in 2028.
The Viking vessels will be built in accordance with the latest navigation regulations and equipped with state-of-the-art safety systems. This new generation of ships is also designed for hydrogen fuel cells. These vessels follow the 10 ordered by Viking since 2012 and bring the total number of Fincantieri vessels for the shipowner to 18, including two expedition ships from its subsidiary Vard.
