The Porto Cruise Terminal dressed up to welcome the passengers and crew of the AIDAsol on Valentine's Day, a very important cruise stop for Leixões, as it was the first after the new government regulations that allow the embarkation, disembarkation and shore visits of cruise passengers and crew in peninsular national ports without the requirement of presenting a negative result of the COVID-19 test taken before arrival.
The AIDAsol was on its 43-day "Big Winter Break Caribbean" round-trip cruise. The itinerary began on January 7th in Hamburg and ended on February 19th, also in Hamburg. In addition to the exotic Caribbean, the AIDAsol visited Portsmouth, A Coruña, Tenerife, the islands of Terceira and São Miguel, and Lisbon. Its final stop was Rotterdam.
The AIDAsol was sailing with 1,005 passengers on board, primarily German nationals, and 680 crew members. During the day, all passengers had the opportunity to visit Porto and the Northern Region of Portugal, celebrating Valentine's Day.
The ship was built in 2011 to be operated by the prestigious German cruise line AIDA CRUISES. It is 253 meters long and can accommodate approximately 2,200 passengers.
