Cunard is pleased to announce the name of the newest ship joining the fleet: Queen Anne. Queen Anne will be Cunard's 249th ship and will form a remarkable quartet with Queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria, and Queen Elizabeth. This will be the first time since 1999 that Cunard has had four ships at sea.

The name 'Queen Anne' commemorates Cunard's rich heritage, royal history, and refined status, joining a contemporary fleet of luxury ships that now honor the names of every British queen reigning over the past millennium. The Cunard team explored multiple naming options and, inspired by the reign of Queen Anne, engaged British historian, author, and television presenter Kate Williams to assist with the detailed research. Kate says: “It is so exciting that the fourth ship in the fleet will bear the name of Queen Anne, with such a fascinating story to tell: her reign, the unity of the development of the constitutional monarchy, and the golden age of the arts. She was an inspirational woman, very popular with her people. She must be commemorated. This new ship in the Cunard fleet is the perfect way to do so!”
The Queen Anne will feature iconic Cunard spaces and offer new passenger experiences in gastronomy, culture and entertainment, for a cruise journey backed by exceptional White Star service.
Carnival UK President Sture Myrmell commented: “I am absolutely delighted to welcome Queen Anne, the fourth ship in the Cunard fleet. This marks a very special moment in Cunard’s 182-year history and showcases Cunard’s exciting global plans for the future, enabling even more guests from around the world to embark with Cunard. With a design inspired by the past and ready for the future, Queen Anne is the perfect way for our guests to rediscover the joy of exploration and travel. We look forward to sharing more details in the coming weeks and months.”.
The program for the Queen Anne's inaugural season will go on sale in May; the ship's first cruises will depart in early 2024.
