Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) announces the premiere of the final episode of EMBARK – The Series, “Adventure Awaits,” scheduled for Friday, October 1, at www.ncl.com/embark. The five-part documentary series chronicling the cruise line’s highly anticipated return to the U.S. reaches its conclusion with this final episode about the grand return of its ships from the United States. In “Adventure Awaits,” viewers will witness the West Coast debut of the brand’s newest and most innovative ship, the Norwegian Encore, as it embarks on its inaugural Alaskan-bound voyage. This milestone journey begins in Seattle, where NCL pioneered Alaskan-bound cruises 21 years ago.
For the first time in 17 months, the company's crew is welcoming guests aboard, eager to offer them the extraordinary and most sought-after NCL experiences. From amazing culinary offerings and industry-leading attractions to Broadway and West End-caliber entertainment, viewers can get a behind-the-scenes look at how NCL delivers on its commitment to providing a safe and unparalleled vacation for its guests.

This final episode is filled with emotion… and perfectly reflects how excited both our guests and our crew are to be back at sea with us.
NCL resumed its voyages on July 25, 2021, after more than 500 days of suspension, with Norwegian Jade sailing the Greek islands. Then, on August 7, the first ship to sail from the United States, Norwegian Encore, debuted from Seattle for its inaugural Alaskan cruise season. On August 15, Norwegian Gem became the first ship in the fleet to resume operations from Miami, departing from Norwegian Cruise Line’s new terminal at PortMiami with a selection of week-long Caribbean voyages and four-day Bahamas cruises. The redeployment of the remaining ships in Europe and North America is planned to be phased in throughout the fall.
The redeployment of the entire fleet will continue in partnership with local governments and will be guided by the robust protocols of the company's health and safety program, Sail Safe, which includes the requirement that all crew and guests must be fully vaccinated to embark on voyages dated up to December 31, 2021. In collaboration with leading experts from the Sail Safe Global Health and Wellness Council, the protocols will be regularly assessed and modified as needed, making science-based decisions to protect guests, crew, and the destinations visited.
